2013 MET Gala: Victor Cruz
The best and brightest of the fashion world, television, film, sports, and music came together for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 65th annual Costume Institute Gala in New York City, May 6th, 2013. Unlike the more traditional red carpets we see during award season, stars take to the MET Gala to unleash their personal style on the worldwide fashion magazine and television coverage. The theme of the night was “Punk” but luckily, the men you see below kept it classic with an added touch of flair.
For those who stood out most on the red carpet, the prevalent theme was bold & bright dinner jackets of the blue variety. Cruz donned a crisply tailored teal Lanvin dinner jacket with a slim contrasting black shawl collar, black piped besom pockets, and black buttons. With a jacket that commands this much attention, Cruz kept everything else simple and classic: white fly front evening shirt, black bow tie, and beautifully tailored black trousers. No studs, no pocket square – this is a great example of the different ways one can pull off black tie successfully.
